Remerging Amrut Chodankar on his birth anniversary

Amrut Babuso Chodankar, born on May 10, 1935 in Ecoshi, Bardez was a prominent freedom fighter whose legacy is preserved at the ‘Aguad Interactive Museum: Goa - The Land, The Struggle, The People’ in Sinquerim. A member of the Azad Gomantak Dal (AGD), he was actively involved in organising operations in Pomburpa before joining the Goa Liberation Army (GLA). Known for his fearless acts of sabotage, Chodankar participated in the dynamiting of two ore-carrying barges and a jetty at Sarmanas, Bicholim and Curti. He died in an accidental bomb explosion on the Sakirvhal-Sale road along with fellow freedom fighters Raghunath PundaalikShirodkar and Soma Rama Malik.
