Asserting that the government has accorded top most priority for the completion of the repairs and renovation work on the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, PWD Minister Digambar Kamat on Tuesday said all work on the Ravindra bhavan will be complete in all respects by October 30.
The PWD Minister inspected the main auditorium hall of Ravindra bhavan and the Black Box along with RB Chairman Rajendra Talak, Chairman of the Supervising panel Vijai Kenkre, besides officials of the PWD on Tuesday morning.
‘There’s a consensus amongst the stakeholders that repairs and renovation work on Ravindra bhavan will be completed on all respects on October 30. We will try to have mock drill before the inauguration. The fire brigade was called today to give their requirements. I must place on record that the contractors executing the renovation work is doing the job in a systematic manner. They have maintained the quality of work. The Supervising panel had had two meetings and they have all realized the need to complete the work on schedule”, he said, while exuding confidence that all works will be taken to the logical conclusion by October 30.
Saying that he had conducted the inspection of the ongong works to ensure time bound completion of the repair work, Kamat said, "The work pertains to a venue of public entertainment attended by thousands of people. So many activities are taking place at the main auditorium and Black box of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao”.
Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for issuing instructions to treat the work on top most priority, Kamat recalled that when Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Rajendra Talak brought the issue to his notice after the collapse of the false ceiling, he along with BJP president Damu Naik called on the Chief Minister and explained him the urgency of the work. “The Chief Minister fully supported us and got the file to be treated on priority. The Chief Minister issued instructions to the contractors to start the work without waiting for the expenditure sanction”, he said
Chairman of the Supervising panel Vijai Kenkre expressed his satisfaction over the progress of work done at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. "RB Chairman Rajendra Talak, who understands the details of constructions, will ensure the work will be good. The contractor and his team and the PWD team are all focussed. They will not only comply with the deadline but will ensure quality as well”, Kenkre added.
