MARGAO
Two days after the police cracked a whip against retail vendors in the wholesale fish market, the traditional fisherwomen were seen inside the market on Tuesday beyond the scheduled timings, but with the entrance gate shut.
Outside the market, the Fatorda police tried to crack a whip against motorists for not wearing masks and helmets while patronising the roadside vendors.
A group of traditional fisherwomen, who were driven out of the market after 9 am on Sunday, were back inside the market, but with the main gate closed.
While they were allowed to sit in the market beyond 9 am, the gate, however, was locked and the customers had buy fish at the gate.
It could not be ascertained whether the traditional fishermen have been allowed to sit in the market beyond 9 am.
