Revenue Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has said the government has decided to establish a revenue bhavan at Porvorim to cater to the needs of residents from the three constituencies.
The minister added that the State government has also decided to set up a national cyclonic disaster management cell and a fire station at Porvorim.
At present, the mamlatdar’s office at Mapusa is overloaded as it has to handle the workload of the entire Bardez taluka. “Once the revenue bhavan starts functioning at Porvorim on appointment of a deputy collector and mamlatdar, workload at the Bardez Mamlatdar’s office will automatically reduce,” said Khaunte, while speaking to media persons at Porvorim.
“The Bardez Mamlatdar’s office will cater to the needs of residents from Mapusa, Aldona, Tivim and Siolim constituencies, while the revenue bhavan at Porvoim will cater to residents of Povorim, Saligao and Calangute constituencies.”
“The government is on the lookout for a suitable place for the bhavan in Porvorim,” Khaunte added.
