Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the revised forms for the one-time financial relief of Rs 5,000 each to person in the unorganised or marginalised sectors who lost their livelihood due to the Covid-19 pandemic would be made available from Monday.
Sawant was responding to difficulties faced by public in completing formalities to submit the prescribed form for the Rs 5,000 aid, during the Sarkar Tumchya Daari (government at your doorstep) event in Canacona.
“The form for the Covid financial assistance of Rs 5,000 is being rectified by Monday. As to the submission of the affidavit, only a self-declaration will be required. Soon, these forms will be available online and people can take copies as well.”
“The State government will honour the forms and we will pay the financial assistance.”
Commenting on the delay in payment of Griha Aadhaar and DSSS schemes, the chief minister said the disbursement was delayed for only two months.
People from Khola, Khotigao and Gaondongrim complained of lack of mobile networks which had hampered several activities in the village and sought the chief minister’s assistance to install new towers in their areas.
Some of the sarpanchas complained of non-availability of toilets and also demanded solar lights and Sawant assured the village heads to resolve their grievances in a time-bound manner.
During the event, the Swayampurna Mitras and sarpanchas spoke about their respective areas.
Swayampurna Mitra (Loliem-Polem) Subhash Pagi said the various initiatives measures have benefited around 300 people, while Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Sachin Naik requested the chief minister to resolve the long-pending demand for release of Octroi and to upgrade the Sub Health Centre.
Poinguinim Sarpanch Jagdish Gaonkar complained that some matters do not progress beyond BDO. The chief minister then directed the Canacona BDO to convene a meeting before October 15.
Khotigao Swayampurna Mitra Vinayak Volvoikar said the various schemes and training had helped people in the village, while the sarpanch sought a solution to the issue of Kumeri plots.
Gaondongrim Sarpanch Suman Gaonkar sought sought funds for reconstruction of Panchayat Ghar, expansion of the lone BSNL tower, inauguration of the Sanskruti Bhavan completed 6 months ago, road widening work and replacement of electricity poles.
Shrishthal Sarpanch Pandurang Gaonkar sought funds to undertake several projects in the village.
Agonda Sarpanch Badal Naikgaunkar sought electricity underground cabling and better water supply, while Khola Sarpanch Purna Nayak sought funds to complete the Panchayat Ghar, improvement of water supply and installation of a mobile tower.
‘Use Goshalas to manage stray cattle’
CANACONA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has asked the local bodies to seek the facilities offered by the Goshalas to resolve the issue of stray cattle on roads.
“There are seven Goshalas which have been provided with funds of around Rs 30-40 crore in the State. Panchayats and Municipalities can seek the assistance of these Goshalas to tackle the issue of stray cattle on the highway and other roads,” said Sawant.
