RG declares 3rd set of candidates in another 8 constituencies

Revolutionary Goans, which is contesting elections on the banner of Goa Su-Raj Party, on Saturday announced its third set of candidates in eight more constituencies.

The list of candidates declared are Sairaj Naik Shirodkar (Margao), Vipin Naik (Sanvordem), Sunil Gavkar (Sanguem), Teotino Costa (Cortalim), Sanish Tilve (Ponda), Chagan Naik (Cumbharjua), Joseph Roncon (Taleigao) and Rohan Salgaonkar (Mapusa).

With this new list released on Saturday, the Revolutionary Goans has announced candidates in 26 constituencies so far.

RG leader Manoj Parab had stated that they would contest in all 40 constituencies without forming any alliance. The party is yet to decide on candidates in 14 constituencies, and Parab has not indicated which constituency he will contest from.

Besides the list announced on Saturday, RG candidates have been declared in St Andre, Priol, Mayem, Curchorem, Mandrem, Curtorim, Nuvem, Calangute, Cuncolim, St Cruz, Shiroda, Madkai, Bicholim, Saligao, Navelim, Velim, Canacona and Pernem.

The RG-GSRP was the first party to declare its first list of candidates, followed by the Congress that declared eight candidates. Other parties are yet to announce their candidates.

PANAJIThe first three travellers from the United Kingdom, who had tested positive for Covid on arrival at Goa International Airport, have tested negative for the omicron variant of Covid.Following their positive reports at the airport, their samples were sent for genome sequencing at the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune.
