Chairman of National Education Policy (NEP), Goa and BJP leader Subhash Shirodkar has said the government is working towards making the state one of the best human resource providers of the country and the entire world.
Briefing the media in the presence of party leader Naveen Raikar, Shirodkar said Goa is already figuring in the top list of states with high education parameters.
“I am of the firm view and it is also the agenda of the government to make Goa one of the best human resource providers of the country and the entire world. We can achieve this agenda since we are amongst the states, which figure in the list of states with high education parameters”, he said.
Shirodkar said the government has also taken the decision to implement the New Education Policy from the coming academic year. “We cannot forget the role played by the state’s first Chief Minister, Dayanand Bandodkar, who had established the network of schools in the state countryside. chief minister late Manohar Parrikar accorded priority for education during his stint as the chief minister and education minister”, he said.
Saying one would not find any children left out of the education system right from the primary to the secondary level, Shirodkar said those students who cannot move further in studies after Std VII have opted for technical and vocational education.
“Goa also churns out around 500-800 technocrats every year, who are in demand across the country”, he said.
