PANAJI: Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) National President and MLA Viresh Borkar has suspended General Secretary Vishvesh Naik and Treasurer Ajay Kholkar, and dissolved all state, district, block, taluka, ward and other organisational committees with immediate effect.


In a major organisational turn on Friday, Borkar said "Decisions aimed at reviving the party ahead of upcoming elections." Along with dissolving all party committees, he ordered fresh executive elections within 45 days.


Following the dissolution of the party committees, Borkar suspended General Secretary Vishvesh Naik and Treasurer Ajay Kholkar with immediate effect pending disciplinary inquiries over alleged violations of the party constitution and unauthorised actions. The party said both leaders would be given an opportunity to present their defence in accordance with the principles of natural justice and the party constitution.


Borkar also revoked the June 16 termination of Aditya Dessai, Premanand Havlu Gaude, Vishal Gauns Dessai, Prashant Suresh Pagi, Rahul Naik, Dagley Fernandes, Melvin Da Silva, Licio Roncon, Manilla Shirodkar and Sanjan Shriniwas Naik. The members have been reinstated but placed under suspension pending disciplinary proceedings, with the order taking immediate effect.
