Road collapse: Police told to file offence against Company

A Pernem court has directed the Pernem police to register an offence against a company involved in the road-widening work along the Patradevi-Dhargal NH66 highway, after a 100-mtr portion of the road had caved in at Poraskade last year.

The portion of the road and protection wall had collapsed and got washed away in the Tiracol River on July 12, 2020.

Mandrem-based lawyer Ad Prasad Shahapurkar had written to Pernem police to register a case against the company in connection with the incident, but no complaint had been filed till date.

Shahapurkar then took the matter to court and a Pernem court ordered the Pernem police to registered a case against the company.
