A 54-year-old road roller owner-cum-driver from Peddem-Mapusa died in a mishap on Friday when he lost control of the vehicle along a slope at Bharvanwado in Nachinola.
According to Mapusa police, the incident took place at about 11.15 am when Simplicio Abreu was driving the vehicle from Nachinola to Pomburpa.
Abreu lost control of the road roller and jumped off the vehicle, but got crushed to death under the vehicle.
A police team conducted the panchanama and sent the body to the GMC hospital for an autopsy. PSI Vibha Volvoikar is further investigating the case.
The deceased is survived by his wife and 2 children.
