Road safety drive concludes
PANAJI: Goa Police on Sunday declared that in the two-week special road safety drive, which concluded on Saturday night, as many as 56,297 cases of traffic violation were booked across the State.
The drive was conducted from April 4 to April 30, against traffic violators by the Goa Police with Director General of Police Dr Muktesh Chander laying emphasis on the need to curb the increasing number of fatalities in road accidents.
Out of these 56297 cases, police informed that 45,632 violators were booked for not wearing a helmet while riding two-wheelers.
Shockingly, 324 were booked across the State, especially in the wee hours for driving after consuming alcohol.
In addition to this, 285 people were booked for not having a license.
