Road safety week begins today

PANAJI: JCI Vasco in association with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is organising A 'Road Safety Week' from January 9 to 15.

JCI Vasco will conduct a number of activities beginning with an awareness rally by the school children, inter-school street play competition, essay writing contest, poster painting competition, free eye check up for drivers, talks for school and college students among others.

The main aim of conducting this week-long activity is to inculcate the importance of road safety measures among citizens.

Ponda resident found murdered PONDA: A resident of Ponda was found murdered at Tamdbi Surla on Friday. Police have identified the deceased as Bramhanand Mamlekar from Ponda. According to reports, Collem Police received a call from some person informing that a body was found lying at Tambdi Surla.
