Goa Forward Chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Monday unveiled the plaque naming the road at Agalli in Fatorda after noted freedom fighter, writer and journalist Tulsidas Malkarnekar on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardesai said that Malkarnekar was not only a freedom fighter, but a concerned and pro-active citizen, who used to take up public and social issues. “By naming the road after Tulsidas Malkarnekar, it is just one way to pay respect to these great people from Fatorda for their contribution to the state and society,” he said.
On the occasion, Sardesai announced the development and beautification of open spaces in Fatorda constituency.
In the evening, the MLA inaugurated illumination in the constituency.
