The State government has allocated Rs 100 crore from the State Consolidated Fund towards implementation of its flagship Goa Ujjwala Scheme, under which eligible households will receive Rs 3,000 annually, equivalent to the cost of three domestic LPG refills.
The first disbursement to eligible beneficiaries is scheduled for September 10.
The allocation is part of the additional Rs 1,061.15 crore authorised by the government from the State’s Consolidated Fund for various services and purposes during 2026-27. The Goa Appropriation (No. 4) Act, 2026, was notified following the Governor’s assent.
The Directorate of Civil Supplies, the implementing agency for the Ujjwala scheme, has been provided Rs 100 cr under the additional appropriation. The Electricity Department has received the highest allocation of Rs 175 cr.
Water Resources has been allocated Rs 70 cr and Rural Development Rs 65 cr, while Planning, Statistics and Evaluation gets Rs 56.80 cr.
The Public Works Department and Drinking Water Department have received Rs 50 cr each. Other major allocations include Rs 67.50 cr for Goa Medical College, Rs 42.21 cr for Higher Education, Rs 40.36 cr for Art and Culture, Rs 39.36 cr for Tourism, Rs 35 cr for Labour, Rs 30 cr for Information Technology and Rs 27 cr for Health Services.
Treasury and Accounts Administration and Municipal Administration have received Rs 20 cr each.
