PANAJI: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the Goa government has allocated Rs 2 crore towards a charter incentive programme aimed at attracting more international visitors to the State.
In an official statement on Sunday, Khaunte said Goa is set to strengthen international air connectivity this season with flights from Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan, along with UK charters from Manchester and London Gatwick beginning in November.
The first Russian charter flight of the 2026–27 tourism season arrived in Goa from Yekaterinburg on Wednesday morning, September 30, marking the official start of the State’s winter charter tourism season.
He further stated that every new international connection will create opportunities for local businesses and communities. “For us, every new flag means opportunities for local businesses and communities,” Khaunte said.
He said the government’s Goa Beyond Beaches initiative aims to encourage visitors to stay longer and explore Goa’s villages, heritage, culture and cuisine. “Together with the central government and our tourism partners, we look forward to a strong winter season,” Khaunte said.
