Rs 3.50 crore temple works planned in Charavane

Around Rs 3.50 crore will be spent on the development of the Shri Sateri Kelbai Temple at Charavane in the Thane Gram Panchayat area, while Rs 3.50 lakh will be spent on repairs to the Shankarnath Maharaj Sampradaya Math, Goa Forest Development Corporation Chairperson and Poriem MLA Dr Deviya Rane said.

Rane recently visited Charavane and discussed development issues with villagers at a programme held at the residence of local Panch member Vinayak Gramstha.

Villagers sought comprehensive development of the Shri Sateri Kelbai Temple, including pathways, paver blocks, electrical facilities, illumination, seating and other infrastructure. Rane said a plan would be prepared to make the premises safer and more convenient for devotees.

Villagers also sought repairs to the Shankarnath Maharaj Sampradaya Math, citing its spiritual and social importance. Rane said Rs 3.50 lakh would be spent on the repairs and assured that the process would begin soon.

Other development issues concerning Charavane were also discussed during the visit.
