The hearing on the bail plea of the accused, RTI activist Deepak alias Atmaram Gadekar, will be heard by District and Sessions Court on December 20.

It may be recalled that the businessman, Kartik Kotyan had come down to Goa with new notes amounting to Rs 10 lakh to exchange with demonetised currency for a commission. He was summoned near a hotel at Baga, where he met the accused Gadekar.

Later, Gadekar asked Kotyan to accompany him in his car for a transaction when the accused allegedly snatched the bag from his hand.

On Friday night, accused Gadekar was arrested under Sections 395 and 120 B of IPC.

During the course of interrogation, Gadekar disclosed that Calangute Police head constable Keshav Naik and constable Mahendra Mandrekar were also involved in the case. The two policemen were later arrested.

According to Calangute Police, the main accused Gadekar is not cooperating in the investigation, due to which it is becoming difficult for the police to solve the case.
