PANAJI: Rusted and damaged roofing sheets at Nehru Stadium in Margao, particularly above Gate No. 8, have raised serious safety concerns during the monsoon season.

The condition of the stadium is in such poor condition that even moderate winds could cause parts of the roof to come loose.

The roof above Gate No. 8 is in a particularly alarming state, with several roofing sheets visibly rusted, damaged and partially broken. The condition has raised concerns over the lack of timely maintenance and repair.

With the monsoon in full swing, the risk of the damaged sheets being blown off has increased, endangering commuters and passers-by.

The deteriorating structure is considered a serious safety hazard, and there is an urgent need for the concerned authorities to inspect the site and undertake immediate repair work to prevent any untoward incident.
