Rail Vikas Nigam Limited officials on Tuesday assured residents of Velsao to desilt the existing traditional drain in the area. This was stated when RVNL officials and Cortalim MLA Anton Vas convened a joint inspection of the drain.
The local landlords in the area had complained of drainage being buried due to works of the railways in the area. Cortalim MLA Anton Vas said he had asked RVNL officials to visit the site. “We had an inspection with the officials and we showed them the entire drainage that had been blocked due to their works. The officials have assured me that they will desilt the entire drainage before the monsoons to prevent water flowing into the houses of the people,” said Vas.
