Accompanied by a musical band, the sacred coconut was perched atop a vehicle which led the journey. The procession, which commenced from late Keny’s residence at Comba on Thursday evening, wound its way to Shree Damodar Sal on Abade Faria Road and later proceeded from Shree Damodar Sal via Abade Faria Road towards the Post Office, State Bank of India and the MMC after which the convoy of vehicles embarked on its journey to Zambavali.
The main function Gulalotsav (sprinkling of gulal) will be held on March 21, at the precincts of Lord Shree Damodar Devasthan at Zambavali.
Thousands of devotees from all over the State and from neighbouring states of Karnataka and Maharashtra gather at Zambavali for the annual festival.
