Lawyers and visitors to the SalceteSub-Registrar’s Office were left waiting for the registration of sale deeds andother documents on Monday after the server network slowed down, hampering theregistration process.
However, staff led by Sub-Registrar KiranMesta ensured that all appointments scheduled for the day were completed by theevening.
When lawyers and their clients arrived at theSub-Registrar’s Office for registrations, they found that the work wasprogressing at a slow pace. Inquiries revealed that the server, which isoperated from Pune, was running slowly, affecting the functioning of theoffice.
Officials explained to the lawyers and clientsthat the server was not down, as initially suspected, but was operating at aslow speed, resulting in delays in processing registrations.
The officials later told the media thatdespite the technical issue, they had ensured that all registrations scheduledfor the day were completed by the evening.
A similar situation had affected thefunctioning of the Sub-Registrar’s Office last week following a technical faultat the South Goa Collectorate building.
