After serving a term as head of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Goa Council, Swati Salgaocar has been elected as Deputy Chairperson of the reputed industry body's western region.
Salgaocar who is president, VM Salgaocar & Brother Pvt Ltd, took charge along with the new CII (Western Region) chairperson Praveer Sinha of Tata Power, recently.
She holds bachelor and masters degrees in architecture from the prestigious Yale and Columbia Universities respectively and is Director at the Vimson Group, founded over 70 years ago in Goa with business interests in mineral development, mining, export and trading of iron ore, real estate and financial services.
Salgaocar served as chairperson of the CII's Goa Council for 2022-23 and was also member of the CII National Committee on Mining.
She is also a member of the State Government's Investment Promotion Board, Town & Country Planning Board and Tourism Board and also serves on the advisory boards of incubators like BITS BIRAC Bionest and AIC-GIM.
