Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Saturday said a 10-bed Primary Health Centre (PHC) with trauma facilities will be set up at Saligao.
He was speaking at Vidya Enclave in Alto-Betim, Reis Magos, after laying the foundation stone for a park to be developed by the Reis Magos panchayat in association with the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA).
Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, North Goa ZP President Reshma Bandodkar, Reis Magos Sarpanch Sushmita Pednekar and others were present.
Rane said the park, being developed by GSUDA on 6,600 sq m of land at a cost of Rs 4.63 crore, would meet the recreational needs of residents of Vidya Enclave and surrounding areas.
Naik said the park would have badminton and basketball courts, a walking track for senior citizens, play equipment for children and a yoga area, among other facilities.
He said the power substation being set up at Pilerne at a cost of Rs 330 crore would be commissioned within the next two months.
Naik also said new transformers were being installed to replace old ones at a cost of Rs 20 crore, while work on the 15 MLD water treatment plant was nearing completion.
He said work had also started on the community hall of the Pilerne-Marra panchayat, which will have a seating capacity of 1,000 people, as well as the panchayat ghar of Sangolda.
Earlier, Yatindra Maralker gave details of the park project in his welcome address, while panch member Siya Nagvekar proposed the vote of thanks.
