Stating that a separate health centre was the need of the hour for Sancoale village, Sarpanch Ramakant Borker said the panchayat would submit a proposal to the health department and government requesting a separate health centre in Sancoale.
Borker was addressing a gathering during the felicitation of Cortalim Primary Health Centre Health Officer Dr Socorro Quadros on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. All panch members were present on the occasion.
"Since Sancoale has a large population, it was decided to give the old Panchayat Ghar to the health department, which is being used to test people for Covid.”
“A separate health centre is the need of the hour for Sancoale and hence, the panchayat will submit a proposal to the health department and government for a separate health centre in Sancoale,” said Borker.
Speaking to reporters after the event, Borker said it was unanimously decided to felicitate Dr Quadros for his hard work and achievement to control Covid cases in not only Sancoale but in other panchayats under Cortalim PHC jurisdiction.
“The panchayat will also write to the government to take note of his hard work and promote Dr Quadros to a higher position,” said Borker.
