Following the death of a SSC student from Savoiverem in an accident involving a sand-laden truck on March 23, the villagers had forced the officials to set the time for sand transportation. They were allowed to transport sand from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
On Tuesday evening, the seized truck was allegedly involved in transporting sand beyond the permissible time. The truck was intercepted by the locals at about 7 pm and then informed the police.
An offence has been registered against two persons and Ponda Police is investigating the case.
