MARGAO
Ruling BJP leaders on Wednesday asserted that the decision by Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar to withdraw support to the Pramod Sawant-led government will not make any difference to the party.
Party workers from Sanguem slammed the Independent MLA for terming leaders, including former Minister Ramesh Tawadkar and Damu Naik, as scrap in the saffron party.
Addressing the media, BJP leader and ex-South Goa Zilla Panchayat member Navnath Naik said Prasad’s decision to withdraw support to the government will not make any difference. “The government has adequate numbers in the Assembly. If at all the Independent MLA wanted to quit, he should have done long ago. Just because the Assembly elections are now round the corner, the MLA has resorted to a publicity stunt,” Navnath said.
Navnath further gave a clean chit to the CM, saying the government has handled the Covid situation well.
