Sardesai asks Margao traders to ponder over market’s future

MARGAO
Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister, Vijai Sardesai on Saturday asked Margao market traders to decide on the future of the market, promising that the government would go all out to fulfill their demands.
Stressing on the need to maintain Goemkarponn in the Goan markets, the TCP Minister said that the concept of Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn will have no meaning unless Goans find a place in the local markets.
Speaking at a program organised by the Pimpalkatta Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav at the Pimpalkatta-Margao on Saturday, Vijai recalled that the market traders had last year favoured a new and modern market to overcome the congestion. "I do not know whether the demand of the traders for a new still remain the same. Saying that the Coalition government does not discriminate against opposition ruled constituencies, Vijai said that the government will try to mete out justice for all.
