Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday instructed health officials to set up a Satellite OPD at the Casarvarnem Primary Health Centre and Tuem Hospital, along the lines of the Community Health Centre in Valpoi.
Rane conducted an inspection at the Casarvarnem PHC in the presence of Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar, Dr Kedar Raikar, Dr Rupa Naik and Dr Wilfred Miranda (Health Officer).
“The existing PHC will be renovated into a Community Health Centre and the department will put up a file in this regard. We will station three 108 ambulances as well as an Emergency Care Centre to handle emergency and trauma cases,” said Rane.
He informed that a biometric attendance system would also be installed at the Casarvarnem PHC to track the in-and-out time of all the staff.
During his visit to Pernem taluka, Rane held an interactive session with the sarpanchas, deputy sarpanchas and panch members from Pernem taluka, in the presence of Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar, former MLA Dayanand Sopte, BJP Mandal President Tulshidas Gauns, district member Seema Khadpe, panch members, Deputy Collector Deepak Vaingankar, Mamlatdar Anand Malik and officials of various government departments.
On the occasion, Rane inaugurated a 108 ambulance service for Pernem taluka and assured to initiate a similar service in Mandrem too.
He also promised regular health check-ups for children in Balwadi and Anganwadis, adding that a playground with sports facilities would also be made available to them.
Rane also heard grievances in matters related to the health department, forest, women & child development, urban development & town and country planning.
“We will look into all their concerns. Simultaneously, I have instructed the respective heads of departments present at the meeting to work on a war footing and in coordination with panchayat members to resolve their issues,” said Rane.
