Sattari farmers' society dispels rumours

VALPOI: Seeking to dispel rumours, Sattari Farmers Co-operative Credit Society Valpoi chairman, Fati Gaonkar has insisted that the society is making profits and that the people are satisfied with their services.

Addressing a news conference, Gaonkar said a few persons have been spreading rumours that the society is running into heavy losses.

“They are trying to malign the image of this growing society,” he said and appealed to the shareholders and general public not to fall prey to such rumours.

Board of Directors Adv Ganpat Gaonkar, Dashrath Mandrekar, Nasir Khan, Kanta Gaonkar, Z Gaonkar and Afsar Khan, who addressed the media, said the society, established in 1978, has 14 branches all over Sattari taluka. The directors further informed that the recovery from defaulters is done regularly since past four years.
