A road was washed away in Vante Varchawada in Bhironda panchayat and this is likely to cause a lot of problems to the residents. Citizens were in dire straits due to the large amount of water inundating the roads in Nanus.

On Friday two hours of rain caused a serious problem in Valpoi town. In Valpoi town a large area was waterlogged and the goods of many shops were destroyed. Similarly, the road in front of the Valpoi Government Hospital was submerged due to which created hurdles to traffic.
Due to heavy rain in many parts of Sattari taluka on Sunday, life was disrupted. Vante Varchawda area has been affected the most as a road has been washed away. As the sewage system collapsed, the water began to flow through the road and the asphalt was washed away.
Almost 100 metres of the road has been washed away and the possibility of it causing problems to the citizens of the area cannot be ruled out. Citizens tried to stop the flow of water from the road but failed. The effect of the water was so overwhelming that the efforts of the citizens were in vain.
As soon as he got the information about road being washed away, Sarpanch Udaysingh Rane rushed to the spot and inspected the area. Expressing his reaction in this regard, Rane said that almost 100 metres of road asphalt has been washed away and due to this the citizens of this area will have problems. Sarpanch Rane demanded that the road in this area should be repaired immediately. In this regard, Rane has clarified that the road department of Valpoi Public Works Department will be contacted and they will try to repair this road as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, after the rains ended, the locals took the initiative and began the road repair work. Sarpanch Rane was present on this occasion. In case of delay in these works by the government, the road will not be available to the locals. Due to this, the locals have taken the initiative and have given special cooperation to repair the road by putting stones and soil at the place where the road was washed away. Local panch Baburao Gawde was also present. Similarly, many youths and citizens got involved with the repairs.
At Nanus, the road was under water. The stream of water flowed from the road and entered the house near this place causing minor damage. No casualties were reported. But the citizens had to face financial loss. Meanwhile, according to the information given by the citizens of the said area, this serious situation has arisen due to heavy rain for almost two hours. Citizens expressed a sign of relief as the rain subsided after two hours. Otherwise, the possibility of extensive damage in this area could not be ruled out.
The traffic in the area was blocked due to water inundation. It was not possible to cross the said road for almost two hours.
Meanwhile, many parts of Sattari taluka have been receiving continuous rain for the past fifteen days. Due to this, there is a possibility that this will have an adverse effect on agriculture and horticulture. Marigold flowers have been cultivated in many parts of Sattari taluka.
Currently, gardens of marigold flowers has started blooming. But since it has been raining continuously for the last 15 days, there is possibility of marigold flowers rotting. If that happens, the marigold producers will suffer a large financial hit.
