BELAGAVI
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday visited the RSS office in Belagavi and held discussions with the local RSS leaders.
Sawant was in the city to partake in the 71st birthday celebrations of Lokamanya Cooperative Society chairperson and Tarun Bharat Group Editor Kiran Thakur.
Sawant's visit to the RSS office at Shashtrinagar caught everyone’s attention in Belagavi, including the local and social media.
After meeting RSS leaders, Sawant spoke to the media and said BJP would retain power under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“My friends are organising a felicitation programme in Kolhapur. After the function in Belagavi, I will go and attend the felicitation in Kolhapur,” he said.
He, however, refused to comment on the ongoing Mhadei water diversion dispute between Karnataka and Goa and also did not comment on the ongoing hijab controversy in Karnataka, including other developments.
A staunch devotee of Goddess Mahalaxmi, the Goa CM left for Kolhapur in the noon for a darshan of the Goddess and to attend the felicitation.
