Was it a mere coincidence that the Fatorda block Congress Committee’s chargesheet against Vijaibab was released at the hands of Congress chief Luzinhbab? Or, was it part of a bigger game plan by Congress leaders opposed to any tie-up with Vijaibab in Fatorda in the coming election? Well, the timing of the chargesheet release has indeed raised many an eyebrow both within the Congress and outside, with the development coming just four days before the Congress candidate selection process shifts to Delhi on January 4. Questions are being raised whether the move is part of an well-planned attempt to draw attention of the Congress high command not to associate with Vijaibab when the local block has released a comprehensive chargesheet against the legislator. Sources in the now say that news of the Fatorda Congress chargesheet has not gone down well at Davondem bandh “ Vijaibab’s residence. Wait and watch how Diggu, the Ranes and the Monserrates will react to the chargesheet as they were all open to form a grand alliance for the 2017 Assembly poll.

Opponents were quick to point out that the meeting hall was not full to the brim and overflowing, throwing up a host of questions on the eve of the Assembly election. Mickkybab, however, remained unfazed. He was quick to claim that he had invited only his close supporters for the induction programme and the function was never a public meeting. Wait and watch as Mickkybab has promised to silence his detractors in the run-up to the election in his own inimitable fashion even as political observers say that the Nuvem seat will be one of Saxtti’s closely watched constituencies where the Congress is making a determined bid to make a comeback.

Nostradamus in the making?
It was a week when Reginaldbab predicted the rout of all the old faces and veterans of many a political battle in the 2017 Assembly election. The two-time Congress legislator was heading for a media briefing when he told mediapersons in an elevator that all his political predictions had come true. And, he exuded confidence that it’s just a matter of time that his prediction that the old guard will bite the dust in the coming election will also come true. The scribes were indeed taken aback and apparently anxious to find out something more when Reginaldbab did not let them down. Before he could reach the venue of the media briefing, Reginaldbab was clear that all veterans, across political parties, will meet a waterloo in 2017. Is Reginaldbab’s warning a writing on the wall for many a Congress old guard bracing up to throw their hat in the 2017 electoral ring? And, will the Congress leadership in Delhi take note of the predictions of the party’s two-time MLA? Sounds surprising, isn’t it?
