Does he expect the BJP national leadership headed by Home Minister Amit Shah to rectify the wrong done to him by Pramodbab Sawant and Satishbab Dhond by dumping him unceremoniously from the Cabinet? Joaquim-Yuri duo to stay put with GF
What was the Joaquim-Yuri Alemao duo doing on the Davondem bandh on Sunday? Sources say the father-son spent considerable time at the residence of Goa Forward party chief Vijaibab Sardesai during the weekend. This is perhaps the first time that the Joaquim-Yuri duo spent with the close family friend after the political developments that saw the unceremonious dumping of Vijaibab and the two GF ministers from the Cabinet. While many in Cuncolim political circles say it is time for Yuri to join the Congress, Joaquimbab has made it clear that the duo will stay put with Goa Forward party headed by their long-time family friend. Cuncolim MLA Clafaciobab Dias must be a relieved man. At a time when his opponents were firing all guns at him back in Cuncolim, Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant has come to his rescue. If Vijaibab Sardesai had gone all out to support the Joaquim-Yuri duo with developmental work, the Chief Minister has promised not to let down the Cuncolim MLA. That Pramodbab took the platform of the Goa Legislative Assembly to reassure Clafaciobab that Cuncolim will witness all-round development indicates that the Chief Minister means business. Churchill faces challenge as GFA chief
All eyes are focused on Varca strongman Churchillbab Alemao as President of the Goa Football Association.
The High Court of Bombay is hearing a petition challenging his continuance on the GFA post on grounds that Churchillbab has already turned 70. Hazard a guess who has challenged his continuance in the GFA saddle. It’s none other then Salcete Football Club headed by Joebab Dias, the district Congress chief. There may not be any politics behind the petition challenging Churchillbab’s continuance at the GFA’s helm of affair. It’s, however, an open secret that Churchillbab and Joebab do not see eye to eye, in politics. Wait and watch.
AAP’s movement against CZMP
The aam aadmi brigade led by Elvisbab Gomes is believed to have lent its strong backing to the ongoing movement against the controversial Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP). While Elvisbab and his AAP Environment Cell head Sidharthbab Karapurkar had personally descended at the Ravindra Bhavan to oppose Nileshbab Cabral’s CZMP presentation, AAP volunteers seemed working overtime and behind the scenes to mobilise the stakeholders to get the plan scrapped. Was Cabralbab referring to the Aam Aadmi Party when he suspected the hands of political parties behind the ongoing agitation. Time will tell.
