Addressing a press conference, Mickky said the alliance partners in the government should merge with the BJP if Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar wants to run a good government. If not, Mickky said it is better to dissolve this government. “The government is now running for its own and not for the people. Or else, dissolve the government,” Mickky remarked.
The former Nuvem legislator compared the rein of present Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar 15 years back and later in the year 2012. Stating that Parrikar’s rein at the helm of affairs in both these tenures was good a decision, Mickky alleged that horse-trading was in existence in the present government. “This government is running in fright,” he remarked, while stating that horse-trading is in existence for fulfilling the aims of a few. “No minority community MLAs are raising their voice against this,” he said.
Citing the example of the forthcoming polls to Rajya Sabha, Mickky said the coalition partners, together with the BJP, should have decided upon their candidate within the four walls instead of discussions in the media. He claimed the existence of blackmailing which, he said, is a reason why a decision on a “consensus candidate” could not be arrived at so far. “This blackmailing has to stop,” he remarked.
