With the CCP elections scheduled for March 11, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has revised the timetable for the second summative examinations for students of Grades 5 to 8. The exams, earlier planned to begin from March 5 in phases, will now start uniformly on March 4, with no examination on March 11. Examinations for Grades 3 and 4 have also been advanced from April 6 to March 30.
Papers that were earlier scheduled for March 11 will now be held on March 4. On that day, Grade 5 students will appear for Language, Grade 6 for Science, Grade 7 for Hindi, and Grade 8 for Social Science. SCERT Director (Administration) Sarita Gadgil said in a circular that the dates were revised in view of the CCP elections.
Additional examinations will be conducted for students who miss the common exam due to genuine reasons such as sports participation or medical illness. More than 1.20 lakh students are expected to appear, with question papers set by SCERT.
