According to an eye witness, Navin Naik was proceeding towards Dabolim airport on his two-wheeler (GA-06-H-0063). On reaching near the INS Hansa gate, the scooter collided against the rear tyre of a crane (GA-03-R-4814), which was taking a turn to shift material from the grid separator of the flyover on the main road.
The eye witness further said Naik fell down and
came under the front wheels of a city bus (GA-02-V-4360) and he died on the spot.
“The impact was so bad that the front wheels from the driver’s side besides crushing the two wheeler also
crushed Naik’s head, due to which he died on the spot,” added the eye witness.
When contacted, Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo said the police have attached the
crane and the bus and have registered an offence against the driver.  “We have also moved the RTO to suspend the permit of the bus and the crane and police is investigating the case,” Raposo added.
