A 39-year-old man from Bagalkot-Karnataka but residing at Dabolim was killed in a mishap on Wednesday evening, after he was knocked down by a military truck near along the Verna highway near BITS Pilani at Sancoale.
According to Verna police, Anil Naik was riding a scooter towards Verna, when he was struck from the rear by a military truck.
"The truck dragged the scooter and the deceased across some distance. The deceased was later taken to Hospicio hospital in Margao in the same truck, where he was declared dead," said the source. Verna police is investigating the incident.
