3 other scrap collectors flee from site
One female scrap collector was arrested while three others managed to escape after they tried to burgle a house at Feira Alta in Mapusa in broad daylight on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, the four women scrap collectors, under the pretext of collecting garbage and scrap from the streets, entered a house with the intention to steal antiques from the house.
However, a male member of the family was at the back of the house at the time and noticed that the four unknown women had entered the house.
After raising an alarm, he and other family members managed to nab one scrap collector, while three others fled from the house.
Mapusa police later arrested the scrap collector, while the family confirmed that no valuable had been stolen from the house.
Police is on the lookout for the three scrap collector, as investigations are in progress.
