Scrap EVMs: AAP

Members of Curchorem Aam Admi Party (AAP) staged a demonstration at various locations in Curchorem to demand the scrapping of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by the Election Commission and to re-introduce ballot paper voting. rnSpeaking on the occasion, AAP leader James Fernandes said,

CURCHOREM: “The Election Commission is the constitutional body which has to hold elections, but recent doubts and questions raised by the people of India over effectiveness and transparency of EVMs need to be taken seriously,” he said.   
“The Curchorem AAP staged demonstrations in the town to demand scrapping of EVMs and to return to ballot paper voting,” He added.   
James Fernandes later submitted a memorandum to the CCMC and other authorities over their demands. TGN
