Screening camp for plasma donors of government depts held at Baina

A screening camp was conducted for plasma donors of various government departments at the Ravindra Bhavan in Baina.

Many government servants, including staff of Vasco Police Sub Division, Mamlatdar, health department, municipal council and others participated in the screening camp on Monday.

In his address, Mormugao Dy Collector Sachin Desai appealed to people of Mormugao taluka who have recovered from Covid to come forward and donate their plasma, which could be instrumental in saving lives.

"Mormugao was the first taluka to get infected and we saw maximum cases from here and at a time when the government has appealed for recovered patients donate plasma, we thought of taking an initiative and conducted a screening camp only for government servants who have recovered from Covid to donate their plasma.”

“Following this camp, we would also like to appeal to people of Mormugao to come forward and donate their plasma which can be instrumental to save lives," said Desai.

“Government servants who have crosses more than 28 days of recovery and are in the age groups of 18 to 60 years have been invited here for the screening test for plasma donation," said Desai.

He said doctors and paramedic staff of GMC had screened the people and those with antibodies will be called to GMC to donate plasma," said Desai.
