The first semi-final of ‘Sonvskrutayechem Daiz’, the competition of original Konkani Duet and Duo songs organised by Kala Niketan Majorda was held at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall in Panaji recently. There were six original duos in vocal harmony and eight interactive original duets presented in the semi-final that was judged by RJ Velma Fernandes, Dr Glenis Mendonca and George Gonsalves.
Juella Blanca Fernandes and Joyson Jesito Faleiro bagged the first place in the Duet category for their song ‘Mozbhut Korya Ghorabo’. The Second, third and fourth place in the duet category was bagged by Cynara Lavina Gonsalves and Royston Lord Gracias for their song ‘Gõykar Londonkar’, Renecia Rodrigues and Esther Rodrigues for their song ‘Sasumaink mogan Vagoi, and Roseanna Vilra Gonsalves and Larsen Gracias for the song ‘Mutth Bhor Mati’, respectively.
In the duo category, Larsen Gracias and Aren Winston D’Souza bagged the first place for their song ‘Poryavoronn Samball’. The second palce was bagged by Joyson Jesito Faleiro and Holly Henricus Rodrigues for their song ‘Somudai’. The third place was won by Valanca Pereira and Sanfa Fernandes for their song ‘Atam Konnank Roddttelem’ and Dasmeena Fernandes and Jasmina Rosario stood fourth for their song ‘Maim ti Maim’.
The second semi-final Sonvskrutayechem Daiz will be held at St Aloysius College, Mangalore on September 15. The grand finale for the top honours on October 25 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
