MARGAO
A senior Railway Protection Force (RPF) official from Hubballi called on South Goa District Superintendent of Police, Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS on Wednesday.
While the district police chief confirmed that the RPF official had called on him as a courtesy visit, the visit by the officer assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of the emerging law and law situation on the South Western Railway (SWR) route in the wake of the ongoing agitation against track doubling and coal transportation.
Sources in the know informed that the SWR had taken serious note of the blocking of the tracks at the Chandor railway crossing on November 2 for close to five hours. Though the SWR did not file any complaint with the police against the protestors for blocking the railway tracks at Chandor, sources said the Railways is believed to have taken serious note of it.
