CANACONA
The Canacona Health Officer himself, demanding the upgradation of services in Canacona, has opened a separate and dedicated Pediatric Ward at the Community Health Centre (CHC) following demands put forth by Jawahar Bal Manch (JBM) and Congress recently.
Responding to the list of demands in a memorandum from JBM and Canacona Congress, CHC Health Officer Dr. Jose Tavares informed in a written response that a separate Pediatric ward has already been established, and children have been relocated to the newly formed Pediatric Ward.
Regarding the posting of a regular Pediatrician, a request has been renewed to DHS to recruit or depute a Pediatrician on a regular basis at CHC. Currently, a Pediatrician is deputed from District Hospital once a week on Wednesdays.
