A sex racket has been busted in Calangute late Friday evening.
Police arrested one person and one girl has been rescued.
Calangute Police managed to hoodwink the accused using a decoy customer and managed to snare him.
On getting reliable information, police circulated the number and pretended to
be a customer.
The decoy customer then established contact with
the pimp.
“When the pimp came to deliver the girl at Tivai-vaddo, Calangute, the police team caught hold of the pimp and rescued the girl,” PI Jivba Dalvi informed.
The girl, a native of Uttar Pradesh was sent to Apna Ghar, Merces after obtaining orders from the sub-divisonal magistrate.
The accused pimp, Irfan Najju Khan (27) a resident
of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh has been booked under section 370 of IPC and sections 4, 5, 7 of immoral traffic prevention Act 1956.
During the raid police have attached an Activa scooter (GA-03-AE-7359) along with cash of Rs 20,000, two mobile phones and other articles.
The accused has been remanded to two days police custody by a Mapusa court.
The team that conducted the raid was led by PI, Jivba Dalvi along with LPSI Sapna Gawas, PSI Sitaram Malik and consisted of NGO Scan India.
