The councillor pointed out that the Margao-Seraulim road is blocked during the morning hours as the vendors from the SGPDA wholesale fish market come outside the complex to sell fish and cause traffic congestion. She also complained of unloading of fish on the road.
The councillor lamented that despite the fact that the situation was brought to the notice of the Chief Officer a few days ago, the ground reality remains unchanged. “You had assured to deploy municipal staff at the SGPDA wholesale fish market to stop the hardships caused to the public due to the vendors coming on the main road outside the wholesale fish market. Several people are continuously complaining to me over the issue. In the mornings school children too are victims of the traffic congestion and as such reach school late,” she said.
