Shet appeals for cooperation to build Narvem road
Says Rs 5 crore road tender is already passed by the State government

Speaker Anant Shet visited Marmawada and Deulwada in Narvem village to conduct a site inspection for a proposed 3-km road from Shalibar to Saptakoteshwar temple.
The site inspection was conducted following a demand by locals for a road to put an end to the hardships faced by them.
Villagers from Marmawada and Deulwada areas do not have a proper road to go to their village, as the existing road is rough, bumpy, rocky and narrow, due to which it becomes difficult to ride even a two-wheeler let alone a four wheeler.
The ambulance also cannot pass through the narrow road, due to which the villagers are left with no option but to carry patients on their back up to the main road for medical treatment. Even the LPG gas cylinder vehicle cannot ply in the area.
The villagers in the area have been demanding a new road, but the matter remained pending as some villagers opposed the roadwork amid fear that they could lose portions of their land.
During the site inspection, Shet interacted with villagers regarding the sites to be selected for the proposed road. The villagers pushing for the road told Shet that they would persuade those opposing the road to give their approval.
After an interaction with the villagers, Shet told local reporters that the tender for a Rs 5 crore road between Shali bar and Saptakoteshwar temple through Marmwada and Deulwada areas was already passed by the State government.
“However, it has been delayed due to critical sub-acts existing in the main Land Acquisition Act of the Central government,” said Shet.
“If people co-operate, it will be possible to acquire the land very easily,” he said and appealed to the villagers to extend their co-operation to get the problem solved as early as possible.
Others present during the site inspection included Mayem ZP member Shankar Chodankar, Deulwada Panch Govind Gawade and PWD technical assistant Gurudas Gawade.
