The traditional Shigmo float parade will light up Panaji on Saturday with the traditional Romtamel and floats depicting Hindu mythological scenes.
The floats will take the traditional route in the capital city, starting from the Caculo island at 4 pm and culminating at the Azad Maidan.
Panaji police have made elaborate arrangements, particularly shutting down roads that criss-cross the route through the duration of the Shigmo parade and providing for diversion of traffic from entry and exit points of the city.
Floats depicting mythological scenes mounted on trucks and having lofty figures of demons made by local craftsmen from different villages in Goa are expected to be part of the parade.
On Sunday, the Shigmo float parade will be held in Margao.
