The Model Margao on Monday announced the launch of Shiksha Setu -- a centralised help centre for students & parents, an initiative led by Yogiraj Digambar Kamat.

The centralised help centre aimed at making college admissions simple, accessible and stress-free for every student.

Briefing the media in the presence of PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, Yogiraj stated that the Government of Goa's centralized online admission system under the SAMARTH e-Governance platform has brought significant transparency and efficiency to the process. The portal enables a single, fully online application for undergraduate admissions across multiple colleges, allowing students to apply to several institutions through one registration.

He, however, pointed out that during the admission process, it was observed that many students and parents were unable to complete their applications on time due to practical challenges such as unreliable internet access, lack of familiarity with online systems and difficulties in scanning and uploading required documents.

To address these challenges, he said the Model Margao has established and is managing Shiksha Setu--a centralised help centre in Margao, located at the office of PWD Minister Digambar Kamat (2nd Floor). The centre will function as a dedicated admission help desk with a fully equipped setup and a supportive team to assist students and parents.

He said the centralised help centre will provide computer and internet access for scanning and uploading documents; on-site assistance for accurate and hassle-free application filling; guidance on course and college selection, with support from career counsellors and access to the My Career Advisor App by the Ministry of Education, Government of India

Yogiraj emphasised that Model Margao's role is to ensure that the benefits of the government's digital initiative reach every student at the grassroots level, making the system more inclusive and accessible.

PWD Minister Digambar Kamat appreciated the efforts of Model Margao, stating that such initiatives play a crucial role in supporting students and parents during the admission process and help in strengthening access to higher education across Goa.
