Shivyodhya Sangarsh decries lack of facilities at Curchorem health centre

SANGUEM

The Curchorem unit of Shivyodhya Sangarsh on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Health Officer at the Curchorem Upgraded Health Centre, bitterly complaining of the lack of basic facilities at the centre and seeking immediate improvement of the facilities.

Claiming to have received several complaints from patients and their family members visiting the Upgraded Health Centre at Curchorem, the members of the Shivyodhya Sangarsh led by its president Vinesh Prabhudessai visited the health centre and brought to the notice of the Health Officer Dr Mohanrao Dessai of the poor services at the centre.

Prabhudessai informed the Health Officer of the bad linen, damaged mattresses and other problems at the centre.

Prabhudessai and his members highlighted the need for basic facilities at the health centre before the commissioning of a new building.

He claimed the new hospital building would be of no use if the government fails in equipping it with the desired improvised medical facilities.

In reply, Health Officer Dr Dessai assured the members of Shivyodhya Sangarsh to rectify the present shortfalls at the centre in the next 2-3 months.

Dr Dessai informed that the centre is presently housed in temporary premises and it would be shifted to the new building premises in the next few months.

Dr Dessai also assured members of Shivyodhya to forward their grievances before the Director of Health Services and to request immediate sanctioning of services needed at the centre.

He claimed that once the centre is shifted to the new premises, all problems presently being faced by the people would be solved.

He also claimed to have been personally in touch with GSIDC to complete work on the new building at the earliest so that the centre can be shifted to the new building.
