Aam Aadmi Party while condemning the callous attitude of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant asked him to immediately release the payment due to handicapped persons registered with the government under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme.
AAP convenor Rahul Mhambre pointed out that the 12,000 persons with disability registered under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme with the government have not been paid the dole they were due to for the last four months and said this is not only disgraceful but also cruel to the affected persons.
He pointed out that the dole under DSSS is given to the poorest of poor as it is provided only to those persons whose monthly income is less than Rs 2,000, and not paying such persons their dole for four months is cruelty, he said pointing out that they are paid only Rs 2,000 per month under the scheme.
